Want to crowdfund a concert? Here’s your best promotion advice
Launching a concert crowdfunding campaign and telling your followers once to contribute is not going to reach you any type of serious goal unless you are Beyonce or Ariana Grande.
Assuming most of the people reading this are not, let’s look at several promotional strategies that can really help get the word out there and make your concert crowdfunding campaigns much more successful than they’d otherwise be.
Having helped launch a number of concert crowdfunding campaigns, here’s our best promotional advice:
- create a unified message, don’t disperse your fans’ attention by talking about other things outside of your concert crowdfunding campaign,
- have a strong narrow focus on the geographical region where the show is taking place — geotag your promotional posts and Stories, use local hashtags, put up posters and hand out flyers in the area,
- find show ambassadors: your friends and family, fans, other acts performing in the show, influencers, and media, as well as your hosting venue and sponsors,
- use personal approach — invite fans and supporters personally, reach out via phone, DMs, email, or messengers,
- keep your Artist club active and updated, people seeing your investment in the campaign and getting updates about its progress, sneak peeks of the behind-the-scenes and the preparation process or just glimpses of your music, costumes or props will keep your audience engaged and excited for the upcoming show,
- use gamification tools to turn the promotional experience into an enjoyable ride for everyone involved: let your fan decide on various show details, like the first song you play or the color of your eyeshadow for the show,
- reach out to local media.
