Concert crowdfunding is easy. Unless you make it hard.

If you are a musician or a band with some sort of decent collection of tracks that you’ve been putting out there, receiving positive feedback from people other than those related to you, and slowly building your fanbase, you for sure can crowdfund an event.

Let’s look at designing your campaign and writing the right texts to accompany it that will ensure your efforts are rewarded with a nice show of your own that you crowdfunded with your fans, supporters and local music lovers. Shows don’t have to be unprofitable or financially risky — crowdfund them and have a blast sharing your art with the world!

There are three most important components to your concert crowdfunding campaign:

  • description texts
  • images
  • promo video

Yes, there’s no music on that list.

Well, first, we are assuming your supporters have an idea of what sort of music you play.

Second — the music you produce is not something you should be changing to make your concert crowdfunding campaign more appealing to the masses. Meaning, the music you make is what your campaign text, images, and promo video should be reflective of, not the other way around.

Now, to the campaign.

Here are the three key characteristics of the text of your concert crowdfunding campaign description:

  1. Short.
  2. Informative.
  3. Fun!

Each element of your concert crowdfunding campaign should be oozing FOMO — the event is going to be fun! exciting! unforgettable! instagrammable!

The images you choose to illustrate your campaign should not only be relevant to your upcoming show and the music you plan to play there, they also need to be unified and look harmoniously together.

To achieve that look without a professional designer, you can select a few dozen images that you could potentially use (the ones that reflect your music style, the atmosphere of the event, maybe throw in some venue snaps) and then select a few that look the best together and use them to illustrate your concert crowdfunding campaign.

Your promo video might be a bit harder to hit the mark with, but we’ve got some ideas for you with that as well!

  1. Pick the format of the video based off your strongest assets — if you are a good public speaker, go ahead and record yourself calling your fans to get the tickets to your show, explaining why it’s a unique, fun and totally unmissable event.
  2. If, on the other hand, you (or someone on your team) are better with the video editing software — create a mix of your music videos or raw footage, showing the vibe of the upcoming show and ad all the show info in short bits of text in the format of who, when, where, why.
  3. You can also go for a mix of the two formats or create a music video or even write a song promoting your show. The more memorable, creative and fun your promo video is, the better your chances of fans sharing the video and recruiting more friends and family to go to your show.

Promoting your concert crowdfunding campaign is what is going to make or break your event, and the promotion starts even before your launch the campaign.

It starts with your campaign page, campaign description, campaign visuals, promo video, and everything you decide to put in your concert crowdfunding page, so work hard to make it coherent, appealing and exciting.

On our blog, as usual, we’ve got more info on the campaign description and launch with all the screenshots and text examples that you can use to start your concert crowdfunding campaign in Show4me today. Here’s the link.
